Alcira Herrera

Alcira is a dedicated healthcare professional from El Salvador with over 20 years of experience, committed to serving her community through care, outreach, and health education.

My name is Alcira, and I was born in EL Salvador, where my journey In health care began.

For more than 20 years, I served as a register nurse in different roles, Caring for patients, supporting families, and learning that true healing goes beyond medicine – it’s about listening, guiding and standing by people in their most vulnerable moments.

When I came to the Unit states, I carried with me not only my professional skills, but also a dream: to serve my community through outreach and education education. I wanted to be a bridge between cultures, helping people access care, understand their health, and feel empowered to take charge of it.

The dream led me to a new chapter in my career. I became a pharmacist in clinical trials, where I worked for eight years, contributing to research that could change lives. Along the way, I was honored with I was honored with a Certificate of Recognition for outstanding community service – a reminder that work was making a difference

Today, I continue to work closely with Hispanic consulate and community organizations, bringing health information and resources to those who need them most. Every day, I am grateful for the chance to connect with people, to listen to their stories, and to share the knowledge that can help them live healthier, fuller live.

For me, this is more than a career – it’s a calling, and it’s a privilege to serve.
